For the last 9 weeks I have had the pleasure of interning at Loulaki Blue. Before starting my internship, I had a very limited understanding of the kind of projects the team worked on. However, after my time here at the Crows Nest office I have developed an admiration and appreciation for the communication strategies, creative design, event management and video production that I have witnessed Loulaki Blue create for their clients.
My understanding of the “intern experience” from university lecturers and the anecdotes of peers led me to believe that I’d be the office coffee runner, sitting patiently in the corner until someone needed something printed or written down. Luckily for me, I only had to run for coffee once! During my time at Loulaki Blue, I’ve been able to be involved in multiple brainstorming sessions, as well as work on content collation, storyboarding & assisting with the production of several videos, supporting the team with two events and a communication strategy project. This first-hand experience has developed my collaborative and creative skills, teaching me to work within a client’s brief, brand & budget to create effective and engaging communication.
From the range of projects and campaigns that Loulaki Blue have done for clients such as Sanofi, Cochlear, BOC and GE Healthcare, I have learnt that throughout your career, you have the opportunity to make a difference to the world and work everyday doing something that you enjoy. Loulaki Blue’s work for the rare disease community and around workplace equality has undoubtedly made a difference to the lives of many across Australia, demonstrating the value of the company’s voice and reach as a creative communication agency.
Throughout my career in the media industry, I hope to replicate the passion and commitment that the Loulaki Blue team have for their work. I would like to thank Deb, Ken, Nicola and Kristen for their hospitality, for sharing their knowledge and expertise, and for their patience, as I developed my skills. I hope to work with you all again soon in the future.
