For my year 10 work experience program, I have been lucky to work at Loulaki Blue. Loulaki Blue is a creative communication company, that provides creative services and storytelling through design, animation, video, presentations, and digital design for a variety of clients.
On my first day of year 10 work experience at Loulaki Blue, I have been able to experience and learn about many different aspects of video editing, storytelling through motion graphics and animation, public and corporate communication, and social media. I have noticed that the work atmosphere at Loulaki Blue is very friendly and open, also very organised with a busy schedule. The office is decorated with colourful artwork and bright furniture, which adds to the friendly atmosphere. Something I found interesting was the process in which a video with cartoons and a voice-over is made, and the tools used/steps followed to create the video.
On my second day at Loulaki Blue, I worked on filming different videos for my vlog project, and putting titles, clips and music together, and sat in on a sales pitch. I also learnt how to shoot from different angles, use a tripod, consider the light, and look for certain motions.
On day three at Loulaki Blue, I got to film more footage of myself, film a time lapse of the office, and interview different members of the team. I also got to put these videos together on iMovie, and finish editing the final product. I learnt how to use a clip-on microphone and learnt more about storyboard planning.
On my final day at Loulaki Blue, I filmed the last three videos for my vlog project and edited the final touches. I also got to sit in on a corporate game creation meeting and learnt how different companies can use games to express their message.
Throughout my time at Loulaki Blue, I have been able to experience many different aspects of video editing, storytelling through motion graphics and animation, public and corporate communication, and film lighting and angles. I have also created my own vlog themed video that has included what I have learnt, and illustrates my time here. Check out my VLOG on the Loulaki Blue Facebook page!
